At North Cadbury, wellbeing is at the heart of everything we do. As a Mental Health in Schools (MHIS) school, we are committed to creating a caring, inclusive and nurturing environment where every child feels safe, valued and able to thrive.
We believe that positive mental health is just as important as physical health. Through our Christian values, strong relationships and supportive culture, we help children develop resilience, confidence, self-esteem and the skills they need to manage life's challenges.
Our message to children and families is simple: It's okay not to be okay, and help is always available.
We promote positive mental health through:
We know that children learn best when they feel happy, safe and supported.
The NHS and public health services promote five simple actions that can support positive mental wellbeing: Connect, Be Active, Take Notice, Keep Learning and Give.
As a school we encourage children to:
Make time each day to talk about what has gone well and any worries your child may have.
Regular exercise supports both physical and emotional wellbeing.
A consistent bedtime routine helps children regulate emotions and concentrate in school.
Balance online activities with outdoor play, hobbies and family time.
Strong relationships with family, friends and the wider community are protective factors for children's mental health.
If something doesn't feel right, talk to us. Early support often prevents small worries becoming bigger concerns.
We recognise that every child and family may need support from time to time. The services below offer trusted advice, guidance and practical support to help children, young people and families maintain positive mental health and emotional wellbeing.
