Statutory Inspection of Anglican and Methodist Schools (SIAMS)

 

At North Cadbury, we acknowledge the SIAMS inspection celebrates and affirms how our Christian vision shapes every aspect of school life. Rooted in the values of the Church of England, this vision inspires and guides our commitment to ensuring that all members of our community, including pupils, staff, families and wider stakeholders are able to flourish and grow.

SIAMS focusses on the impact of this vision: how it is lived out through leadership, teaching, relationships and daily experiences and how effectively it enables everyone to thrive academically, spiritually, morally and socially. Rather than expecting a single model, SIAMS recognises and values the unique character of each Church school, celebrating the distinct ways in which Christian vision is expressed within its own context.

At the heart of the inspection is one key question:

How effective is the school’s distinctive Christian vision, established and promoted by leaders at all levels, in enabling pupils and adults to flourish?

This is explored through areas including leadership, learning, character development, community, dignity and respect, collective worship and religious education.

We are aware that our school has not been inspected since 2019 and we look forward with confidence and anticipation to welcoming a SIAMS inspection during the 2026–2027 academic year. This will be an opportunity to share and celebrate the journey we have continued since our last inspection.

Our school works closely with our local community and with the Diocese of Bath and Wells to nurture and support the spiritual, moral, social and cultural development of our pupils. Through these partnerships, we aim to serve not only our children but also their families and the wider community, fostering a shared sense of belonging, dignity and hope.

Guided by our Christian vision, we are committed to creating an inclusive, compassionate environment where every individual is valued and empowered to flourish.

Our vision for our school community at North Cadbury is ‘To be the best we can be’. These values are rooted in our Christian foundation and expressed in an inclusive, lived experience for all. They actively support the flourishing of pupils and adults, guiding character development, relationships and a shared sense of purpose.

Each term, we focus on one of our FAITH values, exploring what it means in practice and how it can be nurtured in our daily lives, within school and beyond into the wider community. Through reflection, collective worship, learning opportunities and lived example, we encourage everyone to embody these values with courage and compassion. In doing so, we develop individuals who are aspirational, respectful and resilient; equipped to make a positive difference and to flourish in all aspects of life.
