  • Matthew 17:20

“If you have faith as small as a mustard seed... you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move.”

    Matthew 17:20

When Jesus spoke about moving mountains, He was not talking about moving real mountains. He was teaching that faith, hope, perseverance and trust can help us overcome the challenges we face in life. The mountains we face today may be worries, setbacks, fears, disappointments or difficult circumstances. With faith, courage and support from others, these obstacles can be overcome.

Our vision, "To be the best we can be," is inspired by this message. We believe that every child, every adult and every family has the potential to grow, flourish and achieve more than they may first imagine.

What Does This Mean for Our School?

As a school, "Faith Can Move Mountains" reminds us that growth often begins with small steps. Every child can learn, develop and succeed when they are supported, encouraged and valued. It inspires us to be a community where everyone is welcomed, nurtured and challenged to achieve their best.

What Does This Mean for Our Children?

For our children, this message encourages them to:

    • Believe in themselves and their abilities.

    • Show courage when learning something new.

    • Keep going when they find things difficult.

    • Learn from mistakes and setbacks.

    • Treat others with kindness and respect.

    • Understand that small actions can make a big difference.

We want our children to know that they are unique, valued and capable of achieving great things.

What Does This Mean for Parents and Families?

For parents and families, this message reminds us that raising children is a journey of growth. Small acts of encouragement, support, patience and love can have a lasting impact on a child's confidence and wellbeing.

Together, we help children develop resilience, self-belief and the confidence to face life's challenges.

What Does This Mean for Staff?

For our staff, this vision encourages a culture of hope, aspiration and service. We recognise that every interaction matters and that small acts of care, encouragement and high expectations can transform children's lives.

As educators, we are committed to helping every child flourish academically, socially, emotionally and spiritually.

What Does This Mean for Our Community?

For our wider community, "Faith Can Move Mountains" reminds us of the power of working together. Through friendship, compassion, trust and mutual support, we can create a community where everyone belongs and everyone has the opportunity to thrive.

We recognise that people come from different backgrounds, experiences and beliefs. Whether Christian, of another faith or of no faith, the message remains relevant: hope, determination and positive action can help us overcome challenges and create a better future.

    Living Our FAITH Values

Our vision is brought to life through our shared values:

Friendship – building positive relationships and supporting one another.

Ambition – striving to be the best we can be and never giving up.

Integrity – making good choices and doing what is right.

Trust – creating a safe and respectful community where everyone can flourish.

Health – nurturing physical, emotional, mental and spiritual wellbeing.

These values guide our decisions, shape our relationships and help us live out our Christian vision every day.

    Flourishing Together

At North Cadbury Church of England Primary School, we believe that every person is created with value and purpose. Inspired by the words of Jesus, we seek to be a community where faith, hope and love enable everyone to flourish.

Together, we believe that even the smallest seed of faith, courage or determination can help us move the mountains we face and become the very best we can be.
