• Whole School sports afternoon

  The whole school took part in different sporting activities this afternoon with a very special visitor. Paralympian David Hill put the children through their paces before finishing up with an assembly. Everyone had a great afternoon!

  The children in Phoenix class have been busy picking red currants, raspberries and gooseberries outside there classroom. We couldn't believe how much fruit was hiding! They spent some time today learning how to make lovely jam with Mrs Pett. Mrs Baker has already put in a order for two jars of gooseberry jam! 

  

• I'ts Summer Fair time again!

  The PTA have been really busy organising this years Summer Fair. The children have been selling raffle tickets and Yr5/6 have been creating their own games and stalls - they are very excited! Parents have been busy baking and the sun is going to shine. We look forward to seeing everyone this Friday on the school field from 3.15.

   

  We would like to thank George's Green Grocers in Castle Cary for supporting two children in Dragon Class with their stall tomorrow. Look out for some lovely fresh fruit and vegetable skewers. George's Green Grocer will also be supporting our Healthy Tuck shop starting in the new school year - info to follow in September!

  

• Dragon class visit a Viking settlement - Ancient Technology Center at Cranborne

  Dragon class had a fantastic day at the Ancient Technology Center today. They spent the day learning what it was like to be a Viking from making rope and fire, archery, Viking games and what it was like to be a Viking warrior! 

  

• Wind in the Willows

  Rehearsals are well under way for our school production, Wind in the Willows. The children are learning their lines and singing beautifully! A costume list came home today so please have a look, we are hoping that everyone will be able to help each other out. Keep your eye out for the posters!

  

• Sports Day

  Well done everyone! What a great sporting afternoon with the children and parents on a very hot and sunny day! The house teams started the afternoon with a sporting carousel involving all the children. We then had the competitive house team races including our pre-school children. Everyone ran their best with the team points being very close. Well done Bedevere for winning overall. The afternoon was finished off with a very competitive parent races! Thank you to our wonderful PTA for supplying well deserved ice-lollies to children and staff.

We would like to welcome Miss L Lukins, Mr Hamblin and Mrs Maden to out teaching staff and hope they enjoy their first day.  The Cadbury Chronicle is now available under newsletters and this gives you an idea of all the wonderful opportunities our children take part in.
